Weigh In, lost 6 lbs!

After my pallet challenging experience with “Nutri System Chicken Dinner”, I immediately got back on track!

Over the next few days I indulged myself in dieters bliss (I can dream about Ben & Jerry‘s). With NS’s Sweet O’s & Bran Flakes cold cereals slowly worked my way up to the utterly fabulous oatmeal, for breakfast. I have to admit I did CHEAT on two days worth of lunches; However, I stuck to low carb, low cal options! Taco Bell “Fresco Chicken Taco” and Bagel with low fat cream cheeseHold up! I know what you’re thinking, a bagel and Taco Bell? Actually Taco Bell has a few menu options for dieters, and I must say it was YUMMY! Okay the bagel; I just really wanted some bread… so sue me for eating a carb! I did make sure that my dinners following were salads with fat free dressing. Look in my mind that makes up for it. LOL!

My other lunches consisted of NS’s Cheese Tortellini and NS’s Chicken Salad. Now before I go any further, WTF! Why are all of the chicken dishes a glue like constancy? Nothing is worse than wanting to eat lunch, all worked up about the diet process and BAM, you get stuck eating glue!

I have snacked at the appropriate given NS time slots on string cheese, fruit, and honey mustard pretzel sticks. Not bad. I have really come to enjoy and look forward to my fat free yogurts in the am.

My exercise has just been walking; I’m meaning I am walking everywhere.

I don’t mind so much the getting out in the fresh air and enjoying a healthy mile walk, jamming away to my Ipod… It’s the dam walking back that is getting on my nerves. You’re singing to yourself, before you know it you’ve walked a mile or two. Then you realize s**t, I have still have to walk back!

Word of caution here, If you choose to make the “unlimited Cabbage” please make sure you have NO plans for the rest of your day! Trust me on this; you will prefer to be in the comfort of your own home. As last night I found out the hard way.

Well guys, it’s time to start walking. Oh, did forget to mention I have lost 6 lbs ((cheers go off in my head while doing the boogie dance))

The Most Horrific Thing I Have Ever Ate!

I am politely going to say: that the Nurti System dinner I ate to night was the most HORRIFIC thing I have ever ate in my life! Chicken & Dumplings, they got the dump part right!

Whoever concocted this dish, should be tared & feathered, covered in honey & buried in an ant hill. Perhaps this was a sick joke to play on dieters...IDK, what I do know is I actually wanted to vomit.

I feel actually sick to my stomach. This s**t is worse than food served in the local county jail. I would not feed this to a homeless person.

My lunch was the same as yesterday...

Ending Day One

Well, I will say the day has not been difficult. But the late night muchie feeling, STILL THERE & KICKING MY ASS!

Lunch: I opted for the cup o' noodles style "fettuccine", accompanied by fresh grated Parmesan and salad.

Note: Totally forgot to eat my snack. Makes ya feel like a kindergarten student, "teacher I didn't get my snack!"

Dinner: Oh, what to eat? I could cheat, run to the drive thru and scarf down a Big Mac...

NO! I'm gonna do this, I will fit back into those jeans!

N.S. Penne Pasta Chicken Alfredo (has a glue like consistency), broccoli and broccoli. I can have one fat it says, BUTTER!
I figure do to the fact I missed my snack, I will eat it after dinner. Same caloric intake, right?
Oh, hell doing the best I can here.

Dessert: N.S. Zesty mix & N.S. MM's ...

Yea, I know only supposed to have one. Since I missed the snack and the fact that I really want to much something I ate two.

Has anyone besides me notice that once you know you can't have something you automatically WANT it?

Til Tomorrow!

First Day Of The Rest Of My Life

Okay, so here we go into diet nirvana right?

NOT! Ugh... counting calories, portion control, tasteless food?

I have chosen the "Nurti System Advance" meal plan to kick of the battle of the bulge. I needed something simple. My goal is weight is TBA, I have to weigh myself to get an accurate number...

Let's get real for a minute...

I start every diet off with great intent, just somehow goes awry after two weeks. Millions of us do. We start off buying tons of little containers, food scales and fad diet products. I personally feel the "fashion media" has been to blame for decades. Putting skinny woman with perfect T's & A's on the cover doesn't exactly help out in the average woman's self esteem now does it! We as a society need to face the fact that we can't airbrush our self before picking up the kids from soccer practice.

Take the European cultures for example, the daily diet consist of real butter, heavy cream, fabulous baked goods and great wines. So is it just a matter of portion control? Enjoying a bottle of Pinot Noir while nibbling on decadent slices of Zamorano (a hard sheep's milk cheese, noticeably nuttier and richer than its Spanish cousin, Manchego), can be nirvana. We eat for social reasons as well as emotional. By dieting do we have to give up some of life's simple pleasures? If I only had the great book of answers I would know.

Now, I am not one to go run 10 miles a day or join a gym. I can commit to walking, simple and everyone has to walk.

In my 20's, I'd hop on a stair master for an hour, you could bounce a quarter of my tush. Now that same lovely asset that once was is struggling to find it's way out of the "comfy" pants.

So here we go! Unpacking my 36 lbs box of prepared, pre-measured Nurti System meals, I say to myself "OMG, where am I going to put all this s**t?" I have reorganized my cupboards to make room for my lil' foods, not able to hold in my laughter I have never seen a hot dog in a 3 cm box before. Oh, can I do this people? YES, YES I can!

Day One: According to the overwhelming amount of reading material that accompanied my box of foods, I am to add a protein/dairy & veggies/fruit to each of my meals. Well would have been nice if I saw that on their web site! Anyway to late now, I refuse to start this diet pissed off!

For Breakfast...

1 egg (my protein)

I chose the "Apple Strudel Scone" from the selection.

The scone was soft and moist. Quite tasty, especially for a diet product.

I had 1/2 grapefruit (my fruit)

Okay, I will admit I got my box last night just before dinner (i ate pizza w/ the kids for lunch), I did eat Nurti System for dinner was alright. The brownie was absolutely gross! With that said, moving on.

Wonder what I will have for lunch? I will keep you posted...

Til' my next meal,
Cheers!
